School Advisory Councils are advisory bodies that have been
established in every school within the Near North
District School Board. The mandate of the council is to
provide input to the principal on a number of
significant areas that will lead to improvement of the
school.
There are many potential areas for council input. Some
examples of these areas are:
1) School code of behaviour.
|
2) The response of the school or school board to
achievement in provincial and board assessment programs.
3) School budget priorities, including capital
improvement plans.
4) Preparation of school profiles.
5) Development, implementation and review of board
policies at the local level.
6) School curriculum.
7) Consultation with parents, staff, students and the
community to enhance the school
environment .
